We have a wide variety of activities for you to enjoy whilst spending time with us. From our world-famous Moor Tours, through the picnics by the loch and sauna and our frisbee golf course, there's sure to be something for all ages and lifestyles to enjoy.
Moor Tours
Explore The Moor With Lunch in a Traditional Hut. There's nothing quite like a long walk surrounded by world-class scenery to work up an appetite.
Take a ride in our landrover and enjoy a guided tour of the heather moorland. Discover the ancient geographical features on foot as you get to know the secrets of the highland flora and fauna.
A warming dram and delicious Scottish lunch awaits in a private traditional hut nestled high in the moorland hills. 8-16 people
A wonderful adventure for all ages.
We all enjoyed bouncing over the moors in the 'rovers and hiking along the Burn. Our lunch in the bothy was a special treat for the stalwart hikers
We loved seeing the tree-growing, windfarms and hydro projects in their Land Rover Defenders, followed by lunch in one of their "alpine" chalets in their hills.
Forest Disc Golf
All ages can enjoy exploring our ancient woodland alongside some family friendly competition while playing a game of Disc golf.
We have a course with 7 keeps ("Holes"), and 10 discs ("Frisbees") for you to use on this fun family activity.
Tennis
Our newly resurfaced tennis court sits on the site of the old Farr House and there are racquets and balls available for you to borrow.
If tennis doesn't appeal, then why not try shooting some hoops on the same court or have a go at croquet or boules on the grass next door.
Our new sauna experience
Enjoy the health benefits of a cold dip in the loch followed by a hot sauna.
We have dry robes and swim shoes available and if you've worked up an appetite catered picnics can be brought to you by prior arrangement.
Swim in the glistening waters
"Going swimming in the loch gave me a huge sense of invigoration and having the sauna to go into made it all the more pleasurable! The setting of the sauna by the stunning scenery of the loch created wonderful memories for our group."
Water Sports
With our own loch just a five minute walk from Farr House, this beautiful expanse of fresh highland water is available for you to swim in at any time.
We can arrange access to the boathouse, so you can take advantage of the paddleboard, Kayak and rowing boats.
Boats & Kayaks
Try your hand at various boating activities on Farr Loch.
You can borrow our paddleboard or two-person kayak, as well as two rowing boats for you to properly explore or race around the loch.
There are adult and kids lifejackets available in the boat house.
Lasertag & Archery
Introducing, Battle Archery! Go back to medieval times with the good old bow & arrow, and get the chance to do battle with your friends and family!
Why not try Laser Combat games for groups of 10 and over, held in the woods on our grounds using futuristic laser guns to eliminate your opponents to win the game. Go to http://www.tazballpaintball.co.uk to book in and find out more about all these activities.
Cycling
If cycling is something you are more interested in we have 4 electric bikes, 4 pedal bikes and 4 children's bikes that guests can borrow to explore the area.
Fishing
You can go fly fishing from the boat in Farr Loch to try your luck with catching brown trout, or arrange salmon fishing on our 1.5 mile beat of the River Findhorn.
We have trout and salmon rods available for you to use or you can visit https://youfishscotland.com to arrange private fishing lessons instead.
Wild Swimming
With our own loch just a five minute walk from Farr House, this beautiful expanse of fresh highland water is available for you to swim in at any time.
Our guests report that they find it a refreshing and heartening experience which enhances their stay.
Our Animals
In the field in front of Farr House you will meet Rory and Sheena, our pet Highland Cows.
They share a field with Ben and Jerry the pygmy goats, two Shetland sheep and two horses called Bonnie and Gucci.
If you'd like to try your hand at brushing the cows fringes just ask Kevin for the combs and cow treats!
Wildlife
Numerous guests have loved spotting and photographing red squirrels, pine martens, roe deer, birds of prey and curlews on their doorstep Some have even claimed to have seen Nessie!
Make sure you take the time to fully explore the landscape to spot all these and many more. Please keep your dogs on a lead though to avoid upsetting our local wildlife.
Walking
With the stunning Highland scenery on your doorstep many of our guests enjoy going for a solo hike, or fun family walk to take in the magnificent scenery on offer.
We have a number routes to suggest from 1 mile strolls for all, to 20 mile hikes. Keep your eyes open for the vast amount of wildlife you'll spot whilst out and about
